How to do flood control measures in the data center of the high-density cooling computer room?

The weather is too abnormal, and many situations have exceeded people's expectations. For data centers with strict environmental requirements, once a water leakage accident occurs, it will cause equipment damage and information loss to users, bringing great or even irreparable economic losses, so it needs to be flood controlled.

1. Hidden water hazards in data centers

There are mainly the following seven hidden dangers

1. The computer room is on the top floor due to water leakage in the house, causing water damage.
2. Water damage caused by blockage of water and sewage pipes on the ground floor of the computer room. 
3. The heating system in the computer room leaks.
4. Due to improper design of the water cooling system, or damage and leakage.  
5. Improper design or damage to the drain pipe of the air conditioning system. 
6. The water source maintenance valve in the computer room area is leaking. 
7. There is a bathroom in the computer room, which is blocked due to sewer pipes or floor drains.

In view of the above reasons, the following points should be paid attention to in order to prevent water damage during the construction of the computer room:  
1. If the machine room is located on the top floor of the building, the roof must be strictly waterproofed to prevent rainwater from leaking into the machine room.  
2. Due to the use of constant temperature and humidity devices in the computer room, the heating system should not be used under normal circumstances, but for particularly cold areas, when heating must be used, on the one hand, a waterproof groove should be set up under the heating, in case the heating leaks, it will also be smoothly separated from the computer room; On the other hand, steel string radiators can be used, and all pipes are welded to prevent water leakage. 
3. If there is a water pipe passing through the computer room, thermal insulation measures should be taken, and the pipeline valve should not be located in the computer room.
4. Rooms and bathrooms with water and water should be kept away from the computer room.  
5. Waterproof ditches or floor drains should be installed in the organic room  
6. When water sources must be installed in the computer room, management should be strengthened to prevent problems before they occur.  
7. The location of the computer room is generally in the middle floor of the building, and the floors and rooms outside the building computer room are generally water spray fire extinguishing, the water spray fire extinguishing system on the upper floor of the computer room leaves a great hidden danger to the safety of the computer room.

 

2. Eliminate hidden dangers and keep data centers away from floods

In addition to the water source for air conditioning equipment, no other water source shall be installed in the computer room. 
Regularly check the sealing performance of the special water source of the air conditioning equipment in the computer room, and repair the leakage in time. 
Units with computer rooms built on the top floor of the building should regularly check whether there is water seepage or leakage on the surface of the machine room. 
Units built on the top floor of the building should regularly remove the blockages of the roof rainwater drainage device to ensure the unimpeded flow of rainwater drainage pipes.
Waterproof rainwater seeps in through the windows.  
Prevent water from entering through the bottom seal. 
 Prevent condensation from air conditioning equipment leaking into the machine room.  
Adopt a modern water leakage detection system, once a water leak occurs, alarm in time, and deal with it in time to avoid water damage. 
When selecting the location of the computer room system project, the computer room is required to be far away from the water source. At the same time, in the overall design of the computer room, the waterproof problem of the top surface of the computer room should be taken into account, and the corresponding ground on the top surface of the computer room should be waterproofed. 
Water pipes that are not related to the computer room area shall not pass through the main computer room. When it is unavoidable, it should be done to prevent condensation and insulation, and the water pipe should be connected by galvanized steel pipe threads, and the joints should be tightly checked and inspected by pressure test.  
Water barriers are set up around the air conditioners, and water leakage alarm systems are set up in places where water may be generated (around the precision air conditioner and under the water pipes). 
When using the raised floor air supply method, the floor slab should take insulation measures.

3. Examples of waterproof treatment in the computer room

1. Aluminum-plastic pipes are used in the installation of the upper and lower pipes of the air conditioner in the computer room. The characteristic of aluminum-plastic pipes is that there are no joints in the middle of the entire water and sewerage pipeline during the installation process, which solves the problem of water leakage in the water and sewerage pipeline.
  
2. Install a waterproof tray under the precision air conditioner, and install a water leakage alarm sensor line in the waterproof tray, so that once a water leak occurs, it can also be alarmed in time.
  
3. A 100mm high waterproof dam can be built on the ground of the air-conditioning room and the main room, and waterproof treatment can be done within the scope of the waterproof dam. A water leakage alarm system is installed throughout the waterproof dam, and it is linked with the air conditioning water inlet solenoid valve, so that the water source can be cut off in time in case of water leakage.
  
4. Since water fire protection is used outside the computer room, a 400mm high waterproof dam can be installed on the boundary wall of the gas protection area of the computer room to isolate possible water damage.
  
5. All water pipes entering the computer room are insulated to prevent condensation due to temperature difference, and drainage floor drains are set up in the air-conditioning room and the main engine room area.
